HRCompared is an independent review and comparison site for HR software. We help small businesses, startups, and HR teams cut through marketing noise and find the tools that actually fit their needs.

What we do

We research, compare, and rate HR software across categories including HRIS, payroll, applicant tracking systems (ATS), PEO services, performance management, and global payroll.

Every review and comparison is based on publicly available data, vendor documentation, user feedback, and document-driven research. We do our best to keep pricing and feature details accurate and up to date.

Buying HR software is expensive and time-consuming. Our goal is to make the decision easier by presenting clear, side-by-side comparisons and practical recommendations for different business sizes and use cases.

Every comparison is built from vendor documentation, published pricing, published specifications, and published independent-lab results. We do not run hands-on lab tests, and where a figure comes from a vendor or an independent testing lab we say which on the page itself.

Our review methodology

Every tool on HRCompared is evaluated using a consistent, weighted scoring framework:

Trial-plan evaluation — we evaluate via documented public trial plans, alongside vendor-published specs
Feature audit — We check 40+ feature points per tool, from core functionality to edge cases
Pricing verification — We take pricing from the vendor's own published pricing page and flag that figures change
Documented evaluation — We do not aggregate third-party review scores — rankings reflect our own documented editorial criteria
Use-case matching — We rate tools by how well they serve specific team sizes and workflows, not by a single "best" score

We update our reviews quarterly. If a tool changes pricing, adds major features, or gets acquired, we revisit the comparison within 30 days.
